I decided I was going to write one big note in response to the last
Digest as apposed to a whole lot of little notes. Best to get it
over with all at once, right?
Re: Led Zeppelin vs. the Who:
Okay people, enough is enough! It's getting just a little boring,
don't you think? Maybe the people who still want to discuss this
subject should consider moving it to personal e-mail. I myself am
not at all fond of Led Zeppelin and would be happy never to hear
about them again on this list. Not that I'm in any position to tell
anyone else what belongs on this list, this is just my own personal
opinion.
Re: Pete-o-philes:
It's good to know there are so many of us out there...maybe we could
start a club or something. We could go out to lunch together, trade
photographs of Pete, write bad poetry, and gang up on those
unenlightened people who say he's ugly. That'll teach them to talk
bad about our Pete!
Re: "Horse's Neck":
I'm almost entirely certain this book is out of print, but don't
despair! It can often be found in used book stores. If your local
secondhand book place doesn't have it in stock, talk to the people
who work there and ask them to let you know when one comes in. If
this fails, check your local library, they may carry a copy. If this
fails, well...let me know. I live in what must be the secondhand
bookstore capital of the Midwest, and would be willing to work out
some sort of a deal.
Oh, and Pete hasn't ever published another short story collection or
novel, although I have read in interviews that he's been writing some
sort of autobiographical work. Your guess is as good as mine as to
when and if he'll ever finish this, much less if it'll ever get
published.
And now for some new business...
Any Who fans in Sweden?:
I have a new e-mail pen pal who is Swedish. She's 17 and lives in a
small town and doesn't know very many other Who fans. I thought I'd
try and see if there was anyone on this list who lives in Sweden and
would like to write to her. If you fit this description, drop me a
personal e-mail.
The Odds and Sods list is temporarily down:
Or so I hear. I don't subscribe to it myself, but if anyone here
does and is wondering why they haven't gotten it in a while, that's
why. (Hahahahahahahahah! Sorry, I know I'm being petty, but I was
at a friend's house last week and saw the Odds and Sods digest she
got that day. About half of it consisted of people bashing this list.
I didn't think that was very nice at all, and I'm glad their karma
caught up with them. Hahahahahahahahahahah!)
On a personal note:
I had some (minor but rather painful) surgery done on my foot
yesterday. It hurts a lot to walk or even stand for very long, so
I'm staying home from school, keeping my leg propped up, and
answering my e-mail. If anyone wants to write to me for any reason,
this would be the time to do it! :)
That's all, folks!
