A Ledbetterly Anecdote

My school has a small "coffee house" where students can buy coffee, 
tea, bagels, etc. before class starts.  This is usually staffed by 
students, who recieve community group hours (extra credit) for their 
work.  However, the past few days there have been no student 
volunteers, so Susan, school nurse, Baba-lover, Who fan, has had to 
take over.
This morning, while buying my cranberry tea, I jokingly asked, "So, 
you getting community group hours for this, Susan?"
"No, I'm just building up Karma for my next life," she replied, "When 
Pete and I will be together, in bliss!"
"Yes, that's the kind of thing you have to work up to," I say, 
nodding sagely.  Of course, what I'm thinking is, "Fine, but the life 
after that he's MINE!"
