Institutionalized Quadrophenia? Sounds like Tommy on Broadway (or in a
"proper" theatre near you).

The essence of Quadrophenia is that it connects all us disgruntled,
disaffected kids (I'm not a kid anymore -- I drink coffee; still disaffected,
though). If our parents (or teachers) began to interpret it, condense it, and
extrapolate meaning from it for the masses, it would become banal and trite.
If it's the first punk album (as opposed to my Generation), or at least
restrospective punk album, it must remain just that to retain its power and
meaning.

In another 20 years, it can be examined along side Miles Davis albums in
'Music 401 - Societal ramifications of the vanguard'
