FWIW, Brendon's assertion IS completely true.  I had a long conversation
with Mr. Townshend in March regarding this tour.  You are right, one reason
that he went w/o a band is because of the expense, and he did lose money on
the PsychoDerelict tour.  But the main reason, he said, was that he was
very inspired by Bob Mould's recent solo tour in which Mr. Mould apparently
drove himself from show to show in a minivan.  And Pete is an admirer of
Mould's.
