Roger's Voice (and Pete's and John's)

My 2 cents:

Roger's voice doesn't sound as strong now as it did at the band's early 70s
greatness. However, since this discussion has been relative to Plant's
decline, Robert's vocal decline has been worse and more noticeable. I think
Robert kept up the hard drinking longer than Daltrey ever did, and Robert
didn't quit smoking cigarettes until the late 80s, therefore, damage done
(see also Frank Sinatra). Roger stopped smoking in the early 70s (bright
boy). I've always thought that Plant tended to move away from Zeppelinesque
songs in his solo career partly because he simply had lost the range and
sustain for it.

Let's face it, gang, Daltrey's in his 50s now. He is not gonna be able to
sing like a 20 year old any more. Even Townshend's voice isn't as strong as
it was. This begs the question: what about Entwistle's voice? He is the
most notorious smoker of the lot (seldom is he seen without a ciggie burning
nearby). Any comments from those who saw him this winter? Or was the volume
to loud to really guage any vocal performances?

PS. Sorry if this pisses you off, ROBPREMIER, but that's tough. This is an
open Who forum. And how do you know if you have any of Daltrey's
personality? And even if you do, that doesn't give you some kind of
protectorate rights over Roger's feelings. Sheesh.
