stage showman as well. The singer was a dead ringer for Rog both vocally and
physically (the Dippity Do-era Rog). The other two were powerhouses too, and
the whole effect was of the '69-'71 Who. They excelled at the early singles
and Tommy, especially I'm Free, but also at the mid-70's Who, rocking up the
arrangements and doing Who-like improvs, eg. on Sister Disco. I knew them as
the Wholigans however. I don't know if they still play together, although I
doubt it as even if they could do the physical act I doubt they'd have much
hearing left if they'd have continued to play the high-volume rock I heard
them do at hundreds of club dates a year for 10+ years..Gary M.
