Notice of HBO televising of Hyde Park
This story comes from today's "Hollywood Reporter"
HBO will televise "The Concert for the Prince's Trust" benefit,
featuring the first live stage performance of "Quadrophenia,"
with Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and John Entwistle. HBO's
exclusive taped-delayed production, featuring 14 cameras, will be
shown July 14 at 8 p.m. The concert, for which 150,000 tickets were
sold in 48 hours, will take place June 29 in Hyde Park, the first
rock show there in 20 years. Other scheduled performers include
Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and Alanis Morissette. "Quadrophenia,"
like "Tommy," is a rock opera composed by Townshend when he,
Daltrey and Entwistle were with the Who; a film version appeared in
1979. The Prince's Trust was formed 20 years ago to help young
people to succeed by providing advice, counseling, support for
business start-ups, loans, grants, training and support for study
outside school through a nationwide network.·
