Hey, I like I Need You by the Kinks......It's very Whoesque.   As for 
Please, Please, Please, I think the Who better James Brown (do I hear 
blasphemy calling?) on this song.  The Who's version is incredible.  
Roger's voice, this tough white kid from London singing with passion, 
imagine.  Funny though how he falls so short on I'm a Man.  Yet with 
Leaving Here, Roger outdoes Eddie Holland.  

For Athena, when I think of it I think of Air Supply (during that time).  
I never really liked it.  Sure Roger sings well, but he didn't have to 
try to compete with Steve Perry of Journey, we knew he could sing.



Funny that you claim yourself to be a "blood and thunder" guy yet you 
like Athena.  However I list B+T tunes as my fave yet respect the Who's 
softer approach on many songs.  For instance Blue Red and Grey....HOW can 
anyone hate that one?
