Ha! You have no idea how hard people try to please you once you challenge them
:-). In fact, way more than half of the listers I met in NYC tried and
succeeded to pronounce my name correctly. The award of having perfectly
pronounced both my first and my family name goes to Tim Herrlinger. I couldn't
have done any better than him!
The extra award for a perfect Theatre German pronounciation of `Bernd' (with
strong guttural `r') goes to Litgo. (Just FYI: Modern High German usually
uses vocalized `r' near the end of a syllable, as in English `Walker'. Theatre
German, however, insists on pronouncing every `r' as a guttural one.)
Maybe you should just try to explain to your Swedish friends how you like them
to pronounce your name?
Cheers,
Bernd
