another meg of ram on your vid card would be a nice start [ and cheap]
Card makers skimp on the extra ram to keep the price down ....CHEAP

2x cds are almost considerd 8 tracks now.....you can pick up a new cd rom
[6x or 8x] for about 125 - 200 $
that will help ALOT !
