WW1 Detroit area?

I called up my radio station (local)- they said yes, they are ww1, but
they weren't broadcasting. I asked them if they knew of anyone in detroit
that was- they said "Would that be under rock and roll or oldies?"
Somebody please help me. And then send the damn clue bus to the guys over
at WIQB out here in Ann Arbor (which, of course, is the known center of
the universe, no doubt).
