New QUAD Review

OK, here's another opinion, as I've gotten to Bell Boy at the moment.
As you already know, no bonus tracks. The only insert is a miniture version
of the original book (on coarse paper, just like the original).
The mix itself...well, I'm listening on my "secondary" stereo (that is, the
one I brought to the store) which isn't bad but given this and the fact that
my store is not the best stereo environment...I can't give a completely
accurate report. I can say this: the drums, vocals, bass, and some keyboards
have been "brought out" front. Yes, and I notice that they deadened certain
things, as WF reported. Most notable, some piano and the end of PMTG and in
Bell Boy.
And folks, this is a different mix. And that will take some getting used to.
I cannot say right off if I like it better (as I could with TOMMY). This one
reminds me more of the SELL OUT, which took me a few listenings to appreciate.
Finally, you WILL hear "new" stuff. You will definitely hear a difference.
Whether it's better or worse I think will in the end be the opinion of the
individual.
I'll say more when I've cranked it on my Klipshs at home. THEN I'll know.

                   Cheers ML
