Interplay announces Tommy: The Interactive Celebration
December 5, 1995
Irvine, Calif.--Interplay Productions announced today that it will release
Pete Townshend Presents Tommy: The Interactive Celebration. The CD-ROM
takes the user on a non-linear journey through all of Tommy's incarnations,
from the original rock opera to the Broadway stage. Developed by Broadway
Interactive Group in conjunction with Pete Townshend, Pete Townshend Presents

Tommy: The Interactive Celebration will be released in March of 1996.
The release will be a simultaneous launch for both Windows and Macintosh
computers by Interplay and its Macintosh division, MacPlay and is a first
for the Irvine-based software developer and distributor.
"Tommy: The Interactive Celebration is a truly amazing
adventure and the CD-ROM is one of the most exciting representations of
this classic piece of entertainment," said Brian Christian, Interplay's
producer of the title. "The release of this title combines all the elements
that have gone into making Tommy an ongoing success and allows the user to
access them at a touch of the finger."
Brought to life through a wealth of material, Tommy: The Interactive
Celebration brings together the album, movie and Broadway show through music,

interviews, photographic images, liner notes and video clips. Original
handwritten notes by Pete, a variety of surprise guest celebrity performances

and interviews with John Entwistle and Roger Daltrey are just a taste of what
is
contained within the musically and visually nostalgic environment of Tommy:
The Interactive Celebration.
