I EAT HEAVY METAL

          Fang, re:

I gotta disagree with you here. I apologize for forgetting
who pointed this out, but I think I EAT HEAVY METAL
represents a great Pete double entendre (sp?). Pete made
several HM references throughout his 89 interviews. HM and
Led Zep were definitely on his mind (didn't the Zep box come
out about then?), and so were the blues (re: R&R Hall
induction of the Stones and an impetus for the Who's tour in
89). I think that while this song is part of the IRON MAN
storyline, by having John Lee Hooker sing it is a way of
saying that the early HM is really just loud blues. It is
also "saying" or "suggesting" that the Who "ate" HM, y'know
on LEEDS, which I've heard so many before this list say was
the birth of HM (I never really agreed, I always think of
the Who as superior to HM).

          Jim

Brad, re:

The "heavy metal" reference has to do with the "Iron Man" himself. I don't
think there's any double meanings intended. Go watch the "A Friend Is A
Friend" video, it kinda tells the whole story...
