Re: Phil Collins vs Genesis (and what does this

Steve, re:

>>> Genesis has admitedly gone downhill (to the point of stinking on ice)
since Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett left, but before these tragic losses
Genesis was one of the greatest bands ever to grace our shores from across the
pond. "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway", "Selling England By the Pound", and
"Nursary Crime" are three of my favorite albums. Another goodie is the
"Genesis Live" album.

Yeah, those are good albums. I actually like Genesis from their very
first album, "From Genesis to Revelation", right on up through "Spot the
Pidgeon" EP. Even "Duke" had a lotta good stuff on it. After that they
really started to slip. But I agree with you.... it was bad enough when
Peter Gabriel left the band, but when Steve Hackett split, it was pretty
much all over (I always felt Hackett added a LOT to their sound.)

PS: What do you think about the "remastered" (!) "Lamb Lies Down..."?
Why, on the original lp is there a definite start to the piano, but
on the cd, the first track fades in? How can that be the original
     mastertape?

(very sorry, now back to the "Oo...)
