•In additional BILLY IDOL news (that's somewhat better than the previous)
has been given the all-clear to star in THE WHO's QUADROPHENIA American
tour. Sources tell us that BILLY, who guested in a charity performance of
The Who's TOMMY in London and also took part in their recent performance of
QUADROPHENIA, feared his services on the group's forthcoming 25-date tour
would no longer be required. But they are still convinced Idol is the right
man to play ACE MAN in their rock show. A spokeswoman for The Who says,
"There are no reasons as far as we can see for changing the decision to
include Billy. He fits the bill." Idol's spokeswoman SHARON CHEVIN adds,
"Billy's really looking forward to the shows and they are helping speed his
recovery. "We have absolutely no doubts that he'll be fit and raring to go
when The Who tour this autumn ."
