Re: Have you been to Naples (no Who content)

Glad you checked it out -- great place & people to be
found there.

>NAPLES? Have you ever been in the Naples area?

Yes, to both. I spent about a month in & around
Naples while on active duty with the Sixth Fleet,
about 15 years ago. The surrounding countryside was,
and from your comments I assume still is, beautiful,
including Capri and the area around Pompeii. OTOH,
the inner city -- particularly the "Gut" -- was best
described as a human cesspool where Shore Patrol
would not venture and the local police traveled with
machine guns. The comparison was proper because
the subject of discussion was midtown London,
England.

     *That* isn't saying very much.

>Europeans today considered it one of the most beautiful

I would agree that *parts* of the area may qualify, at
least by European standards. Personally, I prefer the
countryside of northern Italy when we're discussing that
part of the world.

>It also has some of the warmest and nicest people you

I was a sailor on shore leave. You may assume I "met"
some folks warm and nice, and some not-so-warm and
not-so-nice.

> If you thing Naples is a cesspool, then come up with

These days, I'm a practicing attorney. Firsthand,
personal observation is "evidence" in any forum. I
assume from your comments that you'll be going back
home to practice, some day ...
