Townshend biography material

Several attempts with out-of-print book-searching services have so far been
unsuccessful in locating a copy of Chris Charlesworth's <Townshend: A Career
Biography>, Proteus Press (now defunct). I wrote to Charlesworth about 2 or 3
weeks ago -- I may or may not get some helpful info. from him on getting hold
of a copy of his book.

Has anyone read this? Is it worth getting? Is it similar in approach to
Charlesworth's other book with short blurbs about each officially releases
song by The Who, or is it more of an actual biographical work?

I'm beginning what will eventually be a sociological commentary (ala Simon
Frith) on the work of Pete Townshend (his impact on latter twentieth-century
youth culture, etc.) and am just starting to collect relevant research
materials. I'm also trying to get hold of an unpublished paper about the
Lifehouse project by Generations editor, Phil Hopkins, as well as yet another
out-of-print Who book by Richard Barnes. (101 books about the Beatles in
print but only 1 book on The Who in print...what IS the world coming to?...)

Any feedback on the contents of these books, or where and how I might get my
hands on them, is appreciated. Cheers.

Dave
