JAE 4/6 NJ

Here're some comments on the Old Bridge, NJ show:
I didn't write it down, but I think the setlist was the same as most of the
recent shows. John seemed in a decent mood. It was impressive how both John
and Steve were immediately aware of any little rhythmic flub. John's hands
are completely mesmerizing so it's pretty hard to comment on much else.
Plus, from where I stood directly in front of John's stack (with earplugs
in) it was a total Entwistle immersion. I took out the plugs for `Shakin'
All Over' but the notes mighta been more discernable with `em in. He was
playing so fast by this point I don't think I could really follow his
playing too well, just the rhythm.

This time on `Life After Love' he was doing right hand hammer-ons (?) rather
than the fast runs from previous shows. He seemed to concentrate more of
that `flying-finger' type of soloing in other numbers, especially the finale
`Shakin'. It seemed like there were more different kinds of bass playing
overall.
Of all the songs, I thought `Bridges Under The Water' came across the best
cuz it's well written and has a great groove and flow.
It was cool on several numbers when he kicked on a footswitch that boosted
the highs, or something, from his bass.
And Steve's solo was unbelievable. Who's song is that `Under a Raging Moon'?
It was great to get to see this band on tour, and from such a great vantage
point. I hope they thought it was successful.
