JAE Final Show 4/6/96

After a long tour (beginning 1/21/96 in NYC), it's finally over... All the
equipment, the t-shirts, the band, etc., packed away 'till the next tour...
However, for the last show, they put on a great one...

While the tickets read "8:30PM", what came out first was a "all male revue",
not seeing JAE and band amongst the strippers (I think some of the female JAE
fans were down there yelling, "Steve! Steve!", but...), we got in the car and
left! A little later, we came back and the first (unmemorable) opening act
came out. Several us on "The Who Digest" were hanging out, telling funny
stories and such... When Joni's Butterfly came out, we moved to the front
stage as they put on a very good show. The crowd seemed to respond better to
their kind of music (sorta like "Oasis") than in other clubs they've played
with John... Sometime after midnight, John & company hit the stage...

For some reason, it actually seemed louder than previous shows, as 9 hours
latter, my ears are still ringing--more so than the other 4 shows I was at!
However, the sound apparently was better, and that was good! Here's what they
played...

Heaven & Hell
Had Enough
Success Story
Trick Of The Light
Bridges Under The Water
The Real Me
Love Doesn't Last
Under A Raging Moon (crossed off the set list, but played anyway)
Boris The Spider
Life After Love
My Wife
Last Song
Summertime Blues

Encores

Long Live Rock
Shakin' All Over (with the now, "famous" John & Steve duet)

After the show, John and band set up shop to sign autographs and say "hi" to
the several people who stayed behind.

So... there you have it!
