I'm not about to get involved in this, but...

April 23rd floats up from the neuron banks...at least it's a Tuesday,
which is a good sign (records are released on Tuesdays).

Technically, I saw Skynyrd open for them in Dallas '73; our driver,
despite being a Dallas resident, managed to get lost on the way to the
venue, so we walked in during the climactic "Free Bird" ending soloes.
I saw Toots & the Maytalls (waste of time) open for them in I think
'75 (answering another query who thought it might have been Tosh). I
can't remember who opened for them in '76, '80, or '82, but would like
to find out.

Woa! Welcome back!

Yeah, JLH is a Grand Old Man and everything but he seemed like a
novelty act on IMan.

Well, now that you mention it, yes, but I might have gone years
without thinking about it had you not mentioned it.

Exactly the same here. Rush always seemed overproduced, not
particularly melodic, overly demonstrative of their technical skill
(odd as that may sound, but I just get tired of rhythm changes for
their own sake), bombastic and/or muddy sound quality, and I've never
been a fan of screechy lead vocals (not that this is unique to Rush).
I like "Spirit of Radio" or whatever that is and the maples-and-oaks
song OK, but that's about it. Apologies to Rush fans, but I figured I
could let it out on a Who list.

No, it's "she's a girl...she's a bomb", "bomb" being said with a
British accent, more like "bawm".
