re:opening acts

My most memorable opening act for The Who was really a triple-header in San
Francisco in early 1968. The Nice(with Keith Emerson), The Vagrants(with
Leslie West), and Cannonball Adderly and his band. The oddest opener I ever
saw was, again, in San Francisco: Woody Herman and His Thundering Herd -
the "big band" sound from the 1940's, complete with orchestra and those
little desk things each player sits behind. Leave it to Bill Graham.
