Ummm...yeah, I guess...but isn't that what "fame" means?  That something is
famous; i.e. widely known?

Absolutely true.  But this isn't a "Hall of Critically Important Music";
it's a Hall of Fame.  And it must appeal to a wide range of fans, including
those who don't know much about, or (gasp!) even LIKE, The Who.

So they should have omitted them entirely?  Then how would you feel?

I guess they should have consulted this list before including The Who.
Management by committee...oy.

I don't think the point last made in the msg above was that the Who should 
not have been recognized at all by the Hall of Fame (and your point about
it being the "Hall of *FAME*" is well taken)... I think the point of the
writer was that he is suspect of the general attitude of those who are 
responsible for choosing who to induct, and may be suspect of those 
persons' motives..... (of course, I may be wrong....)
