Missing scene in Quadrophenia?

There have been a few posts recently on alt.music.who implying that one or more 
releases of Quadrophenia may be missing a scene or two.  One scene that was 
mentioned is the  Ready Steady Go scene which I'm assuming to be the bit where 
Jimmy sits in front of the TV to catch The Who on R.S.G and keeps turning the 
volume up to drown out the complaints of his parents.  Now my original video 
copy (with the cast shot on the cover) has this scene - the implication seems to 
be that the original and/or current UK releases with the scooter cover are 
missing the scene.

This is the first I've heard of any missing scenes in Quadrophenia and given 
that I'm in the market for a new copy of Quad I want to avoid all the confusion 
that came with the releases of TKAA.

Can anyone shed a bit of light on this one?
