Re:Jimmys fight that Fang won't quit.

The following is meant in good humor, so all you folks out there put a smile
on your faces %:^) (I hate those f$*%&$*(g internet cutesy symbols - so of
course I've gotta use 'em!):

First of all, if youse guys are such big fans, buy some authentic gear, (like
me) and learn the mystery of the sound and chords that make me adore the Who
so. It's the natural progression of Who freaks, among whom (grammar?) I count
myself.  Maybe you already have the stuff, and can chop the chords like butter;
I dunno....

Second, I mentioned Lennon's birthday originally, but I already said that, so
it's my fault: I started the whole ruckus... Frankly I know none of the Who's
members' birthdays, so I'd better go back and research the remaining three. Ages, yes, birthdays, no.

Third, to me, both Townsend and McCartney dropped off the map for songwriting...
but I will back off that comment because, frankly, a lot of right honorable
listervees, including Mr. Fang and Dr. Jimmy, have eloquently expressed their
like/love for the later stuff. So I'll give it a better listen. In fact,
tho the Beatles really are the tops for me for overall songwriting talent,
and although I'll have to look seriously at the latter Townshend stuff for what it is, I won't have to bother with McCartney, because he appears not to have
any good songs left in him. Pity, considering what he could do years past....

Fourth, Townsend at least goes out there and does stuff (actually, Ringo
does too [I know, I know, with Entwhistle!]). Come to think of it, Paul and
George have too, to varying degrees of success......

Finally, c'mon, folks, I too listen to the Who WAY WAY more than my complete
Beatles or Zeppelin collection, complete with modest to nice bootleg collection each. And the BBC tapes really cleaned up my previous beatleg collection immensely, and this new anthology set looks to do so even more... Though the Whosters
are doing a generally admirable job here, fortunately other groups are getting
the treatment too....

But I can still pick up my Rick, plug into the Hiwatt, and play I'm the face,
Daddly Rolling Stone, Anytime You Want Me Zoot Suit, Anyway Anyhow Anywhere, and switch over to Lonesome Tears in My Eyes,
Three Cool Cats, Hello Little Girl, Bound by Love, How Do You Do It, and other
early Beatles numbers and not really hit any bumps stylistically.... They blend
o.k., methinks..... My last band we had almost an even blend of early Beatles,
Who... Probably less Who for lack of an adequate drummer.... Other aspects were
acquitted modestly......

Enough of my ranting..
