Richard Thompson covered "Substitute" on his solo acoustic tour in
1989 and also a few other times since then. Two versions are
available on a CD boot. Not available on a CD boot, but only on
cassette is a Who medley that includes "Substitute," "I Can't
Explain," and "My Generation" from 1990. Thompson is a known Who fan
who said he used to go to some shows in the early and mid sixties.
