The ending of QUAD

I, too, am one of those who believe that Jimmy survived. The scooter goes
over the cliffs with nary a sign of Jimmy's body going with it.

Also, I'VE HAD ENOUGH would make a better finale if Jimmy died. LOVE as the
ending is an indication, to me, of Jimmy's realization of the phoniness of
much of his life (a very TOMMY oriented ending). I wonder if LIFEHOUSE would
have had a similar ending...Jimmy's plea for love as the story concludes is
Jimmy's cry for meaning, for genuineness. But, as is typical Townshend, Pete
only helps us ask the question, he does not supply an answer. Pete's recent
interviews have reinforced his theory that RnR asks questions, but doesn't
supply answers.
