initial impressions of Who's Next reissue

Baba - Can hear the rhythm, more crunchy guitar - some muffled chording I haven't heard previously.

Bargain - swaps speaker electric guitar comes out on. Noticeable hiss on left channel. Maybe it's my
ears ringing....

- a side note - I heard the criticism about the drums being mixed back, but frankly, I hear the bass pedal
better, better overall texture on the drums...... I guess I'd call the sound more "organic" or "woody" on
the drums...-

Love Ain't for Keeping - very very crisp guitar...

My Wife - Bassier, lower mid for guitar.

Song is Over - I can hear the windings on the strings of Pete's guitar, even through
a Leslie speaker! This one's spine tingling - absolute perfection!

Gettin' In Tune - What a Motherf*&&*$%*er! I'm left absolutely wilted after this one... I haven't yet
found normal human vocabulary to correctly describe how good this sounds!

Mobile - Vocals seem different, synth clearer, fadeout longer - Kinda like looking through your windshield
after giving it a really good cleaning inside and out...

Behind Blue Eyes - Bass clearer - just a shade, but enough to notice... Echo seems to have been removed from electric lead... Backing vocals more subtle, more noticeable...

Won't Get Fooled Again - Bass very subdued, guitar very crisp, out front. Drums sound like they had
a shit, shower, and shave.. Acoustic guitar on last a chording almost non-existent.... Echo on synth
more detectable... Vocals tear through your head just like a razor...

Pure and Easy - I like the Odds and Sods version better, on accounta crisper, beter drumming, but the
the electric guitar here is easier to pick up, so I'll be able to transcribe it better.... Oh! The
solos are missing! Bummer! Oh, well, this is the first version.. It's a good excuse...

Baby Don't You Do It - Fine version, didn't really need extra leads, but whatever....

Naked Eye - I thought it was a great version. Little hammer on/pullof same as on similar break on
My Generation on Live At Leeds.. Hiwatts a' screechin'.. Easier to decipher here....

Water - Great Performance - Best live version I've heard... Bass nice and crisp, and SGs w/p90s and Hiwatts, well, what can I say?

Too Much of Anything. It's a pity this didn't show up on the original Who's Next.... It fits extremely
well... Guitar and mandolin very clean here...

Behind Blue Eyes #2. This seems a logical early version of the song. The enhancements to the final
version are obvious and a huge gap is not evident between these two versions either in concept, arrangement, or delivery (which is excellent in both versions).

This f***ing CD made my ears bleed.
