Loudest concert

My loudest concert would have to be Pearl Jam, at Elliot Hall of Music,
Purdue. It was the first real concert I'd ever been to, and me and my roommate
got seats that were about twenty yards away from the massive speaker array on
the left-hand side of the stage; we were screaming in each other's ears, but
couldn't hear each other. I actually thought opening band Grant Lee Buffalo was
louder, but that may have been because I went progressively deafer and deafer as
the show wore on. My ears rang for two days afterwords.
Besides that, the loudest would actually be a local band from Indianapolis
called Siphon, which has three guitar players; one has a 180 watt Fender Super
Twin, and the other two have half-stacks. When they played in a friend's
basement, I thought my ears were going to implode. Actually, I've heard that
Buttbagg (a conglomeration of local Indy punk bands), which boasted six guitar
players, including myself, was the loudest thing many of my friends had ever
heard. It was hard for me to tell on stage just how loud it was, but I had my
80 watt Crate amp cranked all the way to 10 and I couldn't for the life of me
hear anything I was playing, even standing two feet away.
