> Michael asks:
> >what was your first album purchase?
The Dave Clark Five's GLAD ALL OVER in 1964 or 1965.
Purchased with allowance money ($0.25 weekly) saved over
what seemed an eternity. Bought it at Grant's in Needham,
MA for $1.99 (stereo version was $1 more). I was six years
old.
> >what was your first exposure to the who?
I remember when HAPPY JACK was a single. Don't recall
hearing any WHO prior to that.
> >what was your first concert?
Led Zeppelin in July of 1973 (age 15) at Boston Garden.
Houses of the Holy tour - they were out of touch by this
time but, as it was my first concert, I was into it.
I mistakenly gave $13 to an acquaintance in 1973 to buy two
tix ($6.50 each) for the 12/73 WHO show at Boston Garden.
I think he bought pot instead. I didn't get to see them on
that tour but, eventually, got my cash back.
The first time I did see them was 12/75 at Providence Civic
Center. Other times were 3/76 Boston Garden (Moon passes
out after 2nd song - or during!), 4/76 Boston Garden (full
Moon), 6/79 Edinburgh Odeon, 9/79 Madison Square Garden,
12/79 Pontiac Silverdome, 12/79 New Haven Coliseum,
12/79 Boston Garden, 12/82 Shea Stadium, 12/89 Foxboro (or
maybe then called Sullivan) Stadium. If anyone has tapes of
these shows I'd be interested!! (although I have nothing to
trade).
