Well, you are entitled to your opinion, but I thought that the
version of WGFA was pretty neat from Radio City. Something about
the energy of this particular live version, even if it was with
the horns. The guitar solo by Bolton was pretty neat , especially
after "hypnotized, Do ya?!?" part...He blended well with the horns.
(Bonus Question: When did Pete start adding "Do ya?" to the
live versions? I know that he seems to say it very faintly
on the original studio version.)
I know I am going a little off the subject here, but does are there
any listers that LIKE the Who with the horns ?
For the sake of arguement, say the Who stayed together as a band
and made another record after the '89 tour.
Do you think that Pete would have had a "horn section" on the new album
or would he just put in the "horn section" on the road ? ( Assuming
everything was peachy in Whoville and they toured again..)
What's your opinion ?
I liked the horns. I thought that they captured alot of the Who's
energy, but at the same time, I thought that songs like WGFA and
BABA could have been hornless, out of respect, but that was Petes
choice, so...I lived with it..
Of course, I am one who never saw them with Kenny or before, so it
was a thrill to see them play together and hear the songs.
Pete
