In about '89 (and for awhile preceding) he was living in Austin,
playing occasionally.  His MS was pretty bad, and his memory was
starting to slip.  Latest I heard (about last Oct.) was that he had
been in Colorado getting treatment, but was planning on moving back to
Austin soon.
