Ten-Hour Mini-Series "History of Rock 'n' Roll" Goes Online

 (March 1, 1995-Burbank, CA)--"The History of Rock 'n' Roll," the
electrifying 10-hour television documentary, will go online beginning March 1
with its own area on the Internet's World Wide Web.  "The History of Rock 'n'
Roll" will air on Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution's Prime Time
Entertainment Network (PTEN) beginning the week of March 6, 1995 (check local
listings for time and station).
 The area's address on the World Wide Web is:
 http://www.hollywood.com/rocknroll/. Online users will also be able to
access the area through Time Life's Pathfinder site, which will offer a
hyperlink connection.  This will allow users who are in the Time Life area
the capability of visiting the "The History of Rock 'n' Roll" area with the
touch of a button.
 The area was created by Warner Bros. Marketing and Advertising and was
brought online by Hollywood Online in their new area on the World Wide Web
(http://www.hollywood.com/).  "The History of Rock and Roll" WWW site is
linked to Hollywood Online (the online source for entertaining and
informative interactive multimedia, covering the latest in movies, home
video, music as well as television).
 Online users who visit "The History of Rock 'n' Roll" section can view video
clip excerpts from interviews featured in the series (with both rolling video
and audio), hear audio clips from interviews, download photographs of the
rock 'n' roll participants, access information about the series, including
transcripts from interviews with rock legends, market-by-market television
station lineups, and behind-the-scenes and memorable moments from the series
(see following for further details).
 As part of their television sponsorship packages both Chrysler Plymouth and
Diet Coke will have billboards on the area's "home page" (the first screen
users will see when accessing the area).  Full-page color ads for "The
History of Rock 'n' Roll" in such publications as Rolling Stone,
Entertainment Weekly, People and TV Guide will feature the online area's
Internet address.
 "Without a doubt the World Wide Web is the perfect vehicle to reach young,
educated music enthusiasts, who are an important part of our target
audience," said Jim Moloshok, Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. Corporate
Marketing and Advertising, who devised this online area.  "We are reaching a
large amount of people in a short amount of time--a perfect compliment to our
publicity, promotion and advertising efforts for this series."
"The History of Rock 'n' Roll" online area will include:

Show Buzz -- users can access information about the mini-series including
synopsis of each episode, lists of the performers interviewed, the songs
featured, the stations airing the series and producer biographies.

Quotables -- users can read edited transcripts of some of the more than 200
interviews conducted for the series including interviews with Aerosmith,
Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Pete Townshend and Quincy Jones.

Sound Bites -- users can hear audio quotes from interviews included in the
"rockumentary" including Tina Turner, Bono, Boy George, Patti LaBelle and
David Lee Roth.

Video Vault -- users will see and hear rolling video clips from interviews
featured including Jerry Garcia, Little Richard, Smoky Robinson, Bruce
Springsteen and Iggy Pop.  (The video will be formatted for multiple computer
platforms making it compatible for both Mac and Window machines.)

Sights -- users can download photographs of musicians who took part in the
series.

 "The History of Rock 'n' Roll," produced by Andrew Solt Productions and QDE,
in association with Telepictures Productions and Time-Life Video &
Television, is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
 The series is also being distributed on videocassette by Warner Home Video
(retail) and by Time-Life Video and Television (in direct response).
