New Leeds

The new, extended _Live At Leeds_ is superb! Just what the doctor ordered
after the dull let down of the Box Set.

Jon Astley nailed this one square on the head. He preserves the left/right -
John/Pete separation that always made this record TWO mono great albums
when listened to discretely. His "in" joke regarding the corrected
crackling on the disc "label" was a big <G>.

Spent most of my late teens and early twenties learning this record note
for note and I'm still bowled over by its power and invention. This is
what The Who were all about. Raw energy, good humor and musical bombast.

IMH (hyperbolic)O it very simply renders the kind of minutae we discuss
here and in the other Who forums (alternate mixes, demo versions, pants
sizes, etc.) superfluous.

The audio equivalent of the wonderful Video. It will be very hard to
follow this up with anything short of an astounding mix of live songs
from throughout their career. The other reissues may suffer in comparison.

My new favorite version of "The Mini Opera".

Best-
Pete Parrella
