"Ascension Two" came out in 1982, on the WOMAD (World Of Music And Dance) 
double-lp set you mentioned in your message. Since the lp was released in '82,
it would seem logical that "Ascension" (a beautiful piece of music, in my 
opinion) was recorded in 1982, during the "It's Hard" sessions. But that's 
actually NOT the case, as Rabbit Bundrick was not involved in the 1982 "Hard" 
sessions, or the 1982 Farewell Tour, either. If you all remember, Tim Gorman 
handled keyboard duties on both album AND tour for 1982.

My sneaky suspicion is that the song's basic tracks were recorded sometime in 
1980-1981, and Pete finished his vocal overdubs and mixing in 1981-1982, 
probably around the "Chinese Eyes" recording timeframe. 

It's great that somebody brought up "Ascension Two" on the WHOlist: it's 
really spiritual and beautiful, with some nicely layered PT vocal work.
