Moon on Quadrophenia

>BTW I gave Face Dances a listen the other day and actually liked

> Some of my favorite songs on
>Face Dances are "Did You Steal My Money", "Another Tricky Day", and
>"How Can You Do It Alone". I would have LOVED to hear Moonie add his
>spice >especially to those first two songs... think about it....a
>quadrophenia-era>keith going nuts on DYSMM would be pretty
interesting, at the least...
**************i disagree- by quad, keith had noticably startd losing
his skills- check the drum intro to ive had enough- perfunctory at
best!

> I guess it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: The drums
>on >Face Dances are definitely the weakest link in the chain (I simply
>disagree>with charlesworth that most of the songs are pete's weaker
>efforts....again, >if keith had played on them, I think he would have
breathed much more >life>into them than kenny
could)***********************************

again i disagree- (as a major moon fan, this hurts me, too!) BUT
i wouldnt want the drummer of who are you on that album, let alone any
album

by that time, moon had simply had it- booze and drugs withered all his
skills

        Michael,
What, are you kidding? Moon on Quadrophenia is in top form!!
His capabilities, style, and taste are right on target.... I don't think there
is a bad note on that album, drums or otherwise!! If there IS an example of
poor drumming on Quad, please, give an example.
Jeff points out, in his reply, Moonie's performance on "Dreaming from
the Waist" on the 30 yrs max video.... not to mention his performance in the
studio for WBN.... listen to "Success Story"....
So, are you saying that Kenny's drumming was more suited for the last
two Who lp's than Keith's? Come ON, Please.... (well, actually, I DID
suggest that perhaps kenny's drum sound was weak in the mix, so I am giving
him the benefit of the doubt....but STILL... ) My point is really just a
reiteration of the eternal fact that without Keith Moon, the Who does not
exist.
I don't know... everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I would
NEVER take that away from you, being a devout Libertarian.... I can see,
MAYBE, on WRU where Moon was getting weak, but on Quadrophenia (and WBN) I
really think Moon was right on target....again, I invite examples to
illustrate otherwise....

PS.... uhh, huh-huh .... like, I think that guy with the missing
front tooth was a pretty good drummer, beavis.....
