Its not neccesarily (I know, I can't spell) that the new drummers are 
muffling their drums, although some do..but its the heads they use, the way 
I see it.  Where as keith used rocker type heads and coateds that give a dryer
 ringy sound, a lot of the new drummers use pinstripes and hydrolic heads.  
Also the drums being made now are made differently deadening a lot of the 
ring.  The ply of the wood makes a big difference the sound.  

Bout the bass drum, keith didn't even muffle that a lot of the time :)
