How about the opposite,  albums that you bought on a whim and really 
love?

The one that I have is "Live Yardbirds, featuring Jimmy Page"  Actually 
I didn't buy it on a whim, but it was in a cutout bin for $2.99.

I also bought the soundtrack to "Back to the Beach"  don't laugh, it 
has a tremendous version of "Pipeline" by Stevie Ray Vaughan.  It also 
has a picture of SRV with his guitar on left handed. Just a reversal so 
it "fit" better.
