That last comment seems to apply to the '82 tour moreso
than the '89. I like both, in retrospect, but I heartliy
disagree with:

I saw their two shows in Philly, and I was not expecting
much from the second, imagining that the first was loaded
with personal excitement at the event of it all, but I
was just as blown away the next night. I liked the song selection,
the timing, the arrangements (although I could do without
horns on "WGFA", thankyouverymuch). I like that they didn't
TRY to be the Who of 1974. THAT would have been the kind of
failure I think Pete always dreaded for the Who, and which he
seems to keep imagining has actually happened somehow.

I'd hate to think that Philly fans just "lucked out" and
no other shows were as good - I doubt that's the case at all.
