RE: Clutch advice?

John,

How much power are you putting down at the crank? How much do you plan to
put down in the near future? If you don't plan to crank out 250-300hp
anytime soon, I would HIGHLY recommend sticking with the stock OEM clutch
kit. But, I would recommend picking up a lightened flywheel and replace
your rear-main seal, timing chains, chain guides, and chain tensioner.

Performance clutches are MUCH more expensive than the stock unit. They also
reduce overall drivability because they grab too quickly and will
chirp/squeak if you launch somewhat hard. This reduction in clutch slip
will make traffic a nightmare.

Subject: Clutch advice?

Time for a new clutch...100,000 miles is a good lifetime for one, don't ya
think? I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on performance clutches,
and if so what does it add over stock?
