Subject: New Owner Qs

Hello all!

I am a new GLX owner, I drove 2000 miles in 38 hours to pick up a '95 GLX
5-speed from AL last weekend. Not an experience I care to repeat any time
soon, but it's over, and I have the car now. :) The car is pretty nice, but
I'll be going through it mechanically and getting some stuff fixed. Wheel
bearings, timing chain, coilpack, general tuneup, that kind of stuff. I just
got my Bentley today, so I'll be RT(stinkin')M'ing this weekend, but I had a
couple questions...

1 - I'm going to replace the timing chain and associated guides, etc. What
else should I do while I have it apart? I'll do the clutch since the tranny
will be out, but anything else? This car just turned over 100k.

2 - The steering wheel is very worn on the top edge, the top layer of
leather is actually worn through in a couple of places. Can I buy just the
leather somewhere and sew it myself? Or is there something you guys would
recommend? Don't really want a generic cover, this car deserves better...

I'll have a lot more in the near future, but that's it for now! By way of
introduction, my name's Armen, and I'm a certified RX-7 and Corvair junkie,
and I'm not the least bit afraid to get my hands dirty. I've rebuilt pretty
much everything but an actual engine so far myself, and am pretty
mechanically inclined. This is my first 'dub, though, so it's all new
again! Thanks in advance!
