Egged my Jetta

I recently discovered that an egg had been smashed on the roof of my 98 GLX. 
 Don't know who or why.  The worse part is that it had baked in the sun (in 
95 degree weather) for two days before I found out.  I was able to get most 
of it off using a vinegar/water solution and soaking it for a while, but a 
residue remains.  Any ideas finishing the job?
