Chris,

You have to use a CD ripping program to convert CD's to MP3's on your
hard drive.  I use a popular program called MusicMatch to accomplish
this.  Just make sure you set your recording quality rate to 128kbps 
or higher & 44.1kHz sampling rate.

To make CD's from MP3 files, you have to use a some cd burning program
like Adaptec/Roxio EZCD Creator.  It makes it as easy as drag&drop.
Your CD Burner should have come with the necessary program to do this
task.  If not, then you can download it for free.

BTW... in your message, you say you want to convert your music to MP3's,
but you also want to play them in your car.  Do you have a in-dash CD
player that is capable of playing MP3 files?  If so, that is really
cool!
