Longevity?

I almost bought a new car this weekend. I had my eye on a 2001 330Ci (I
drove a 325Ci and thought my Jetta was faster...) but I eventually
chickened out. My Jetta is running too good to give it up yet. It's paid
for and I could use the savings.

My plan is to save up for 2 years and then re-evaluate what I want. So I
thought I'd ask folks what I can expect over the next 2 years? The car is
a '97 GLX bought on 3/4/97. It's got 83400 miles (give or take). It has
never missed a maintenance, and I've got a great dealership service dept.
near my home. It is using Mobil 1, changed about every 10K or sooner -
but with maintenance every 15K it's more like every 5 K with the
occasional 10K interval. The only mods to it are the Neuspeed sport
springs and Boge ProGas shocks.

So, if I continue to take good care of it, can I expect another 2 years,
40K miles at the outside? What major service problems might I see? I
know the O2 sensor and coil pack, plus things that are designed to be
replaced like a clutch and brakes (believe it or not, I am still ont he
front brakes. And the mechanic says I have almost 50% left on the pads.
Guess I don't drive that hard. :-). I just am wondering if I should buy
something while I still have 8500 or so I can get for the car, or if I am
going to have another 2 years of reliability. Or more! So you '95 GLX
folks let me know, please?

Thanks,
John
