I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic 10W30 since the 30k mark. The jetta currently has about 100k on the odometer. After driving around town for a while the temperature might hit the 280 mark, just daily driving (Southeastern PA). I guess I'll check the coolant system first then go from there...Thanks for the suggestions. Dave 95 Jetta GLX
