As stated, the air bag light will stay on, but the ND side one will remain
working, although in the Bentley they mention that the ND side air bag's
operation may be effected by the failure of the drivers side one. In NY, it
is illegal (ie-won't pass inspection...) if the car was originally equiped
with an airbag, although there are always ways around it. Finally, your
insurance company will use the disabled air bag to get out of paying for
injuries in a bad accident, which leads me the final thought...I will take
all the help in protecting myslef and my passangers in the god awful event
that I am in an accidient, so personally I would never disconnect it. If
the stock wheel annoyed me, I would go to a junk yard and get a 2000 Cabrio
wheel and airbag...looks great and plugs right in.
