RE: Neuspeed Performance Products? Not really.....

They have been having problems with the rear sway brackets. As a result
they have new brackets out that are supposedly like 40-50% bigger than the
old ones. Velocity use to warranty them free. You can check and see if
they still do.

Subject: Neuspeed Performance Products? Not really.....

Hi everyone,

I am going to take a minute to get up on my soap box about my experience
with Neuspeed performance products.

I have been using Neuspeed products for years, but now I am realizing
that maybe it isn't the quality of performance products I demand for my
cars.

I have installed on my 97 Jetta GLX, a Neuspeed Upper strut tie bar,
Neuspeed 25mm front sway bar, and a Neuspeed 28mm rear sway bar. I have
been happy with the tie bar, and the front sway bar; but the quality of
the rear bar
mounting bracketry is less than adequate! In fact it is awful.....

I break the Neuspeed rear sway bar mounting brackets, on average, once a
year. Well, I am getting tired of buying brackets for my car.

When I talk to Neuspeed about the problem, I get a two fold answer:

1) We have never heard of anyone having this problem.
2)We suggest that you not run the bar on the stiffest setting.

My reply, "why have a sway bar designed to have the capability to run it
on a setting that is NOT structurally capable of the that setting; and
why have that setting if you are now suggesting not to use that
setting?"

Has anyone else had a problem with the rear sway bar brackets breaking?

I am open to suggestions, on both dealing with a contact at Neuspeed to
rectify this problem; or a suggestion on a different type of rear
bracket for the Neuspeed bar; or a different rear bar that is truly a
"performance" part.

Thanks for your time,

chris
