RE: Scraping noises in steering column.

If you look at the steering column right where the wheel meets the column, you'll see a series of discs. These relate to the horn, and (I believe) the airbag. Those were causing the sound on my GLX. Like most of the other noises, I learned to live with them when they were there, and was happy when the planets aligned well enough to get the squeek, rattle free car I thought I paid for.

Subject: Scraping noises in steering column.

For some time now I have experienced consistently in each direction, a scraping noise coming
from the steering column.

I have attempted to investigate the noise by removing the plastic 2-piece cover only to find no real access to the
center of the column where the noise is coming from.

Any suggestions and or similar experiences???

Thanks in advance...
