Re: [Colorado_H2O_Dubbers] RE: it was a very good lunch (sing like FrankSinatra)

Yeah, my "hey stupid" light in my 1991 GLi was about a gallon or so later than it was supposed to
be... I've had some lovely nature walks on account of that thing...

I don't have a "hey stupid light". That would have help once before! oops.

My MFA reads 25.7 over the last 2000 miles of running with my new Garrett
chip; previous 3000 miles
reported 25.0.

I typically get around 300 to a tank and that's typically when the "hey,
stupid!" light comes on.

I have an intake too. I noticed that the mileage went down when I put it on.
It's hard not to punch it when you are around the 3500-4500 RPM mark. hehe.

Just to comment on the VR6 mpg. I had a 1997 GLX with an intake on it and I
was lucky to get more that 20 mpg combined mileage. I think the best I ever
got was 330 miles to a tank. The worst I got was 210miles to a tank. The
average was 230-240 to a tank.

Part of it could be that I have higher winter tires on it right now. They
are 195/55/15 instead of 205/50/15. That might throw it off a little too.
But with these tires on it, That's the best tank I've had so far.

Dude... when I had my '98 Jetta GLX with Garrett V.11 chip installed,
I managed 410 miles on one tank with strictly highway driving. I kept
my speeds between 70-90 mph. This was on my trip from Columbus, OH to
Norfolk, VA.

Is something seriously wrong with your VR6? 324 miles in one take
is something like 23 mpg (using 14 gallons of gas). Your tank should
be 14.5 gallons in size. I would usually average 24 mpg with lots of
city driving in my car. You should be getting at least 26 mpg on the
highway (without a chip).

So I need to get gas after going up to Vail this weekend. I check the MFA
before I reset it, and to my (happy) surprise, I got 324 miles out of that
tank! I've driven this before and I have only gotten 276. During the week I
usually only get 250 if I'm lucky. I'll see what this tank can get me,
especially since I fixed my coil pack.
Anyway, I also took some pictures of the Vento, with my new digital camera,
since it's transformation. I should have those up tomorrow.
