Subject: Switchblade Keys

Hello again Folks,

i just wanted to address the discussions on the new style "switchblade"
keys. First, regarding them coming apart. They are actually two pieces,
one is the key and the other is the remote. There is a little "tab" that
locks the two together for assembly. The tab had a tendency to break off
and the two pieces would separate. This has been redesigned to a more
robust design with fewer failures. If you have had the key(s) break you
should be able to have them replaced under warranty at your servicing
dealer.

If you have a '98-'99 vintage VW with sidewinder keys and a separate
remote you can upgrade to the one piece switchblade style. if you're
dealer say's it can't be done give my parts manager Ken a call and he'll
do it for you. He'll need your VIN.
